MEET JARAH
Jarah is a Serial Entrepreneur. Wearing many titles her businesses range from health and wellness, author, travel, hair care products, hair extensions, business coaching and with her drive and determination, the list will continue to grow
As a teenager Jarah began doing her own hair. While attending college to peruse her degree in Fashion Merchandising, as a single parent, Jarah continued to hone her skills by doing hair for classmates and family members. Word traveled fast about the quality of her work and it didn’t take long for demand for her services to grow. So did her passion, as she realized doing hair was no longer a hobby but it was a God-given talent that she should seriously pursue.
Jarah gave up her job to attend cosmetology school full time. With hard work and commitment she managed to complete the cosmetology program and take the state board examination in only nine months.
Upon becoming a Licensed Cosmetologist Jarah immediately began to build her brand. She launched her Virgin hair extension line, HBJ Glam Extensions in 2013. That gave her clients access to premium grade hair extensions. After two years of working in various salons, Jarah opened her first salon, HBJ Glam Studio salon suite to better serve her faithful and growing clientele. Not long after, she transitioned from her salon suite into a full service salon and boutique, HBJ Glam Studio Salon & Boutique.
In December of 2017, Jarah was awarded the Beast and the Beast Artistry “Best Sew-in, in the Big Bend”.
Jarah has a strong passion to give back to the community. One of the events that she is most proud of is "Pink Friday" this is her annual breast cancer awareness event. As a daughter of a breast cancer survivor she has become an activist for making younger women aware of early detection. With hopes of making it a month long event in years to come. She also collects non perishable items year round for one of the local food banks in her community. Helping others is Jarah’s ministry.
After ten years of being a full time master cosmetologist in 2022, Jarah retired from working behind the chair and relocated her business to Atlanta, GA. In addition to operating her other businesses, Jarah now helps other beauty professionals generate multiple streams of income.
